Traveling somewhere in Texas, Karen (Travis), a Texas - born, Chicago -dwelling, hostage negotiator with a recent bad streak ends up with a bit of car trouble. Enter Frank (Belushi) and his estranged wife Rayanne (Whirry) to set things in motion. Accepting a ride from Frank, Karen ends up entangled in scenario of life and death she is powerless to stop. While trying to escape, she ends up at an all - but - abandoned government facility where she meets Brian (Whaley), a scientist working on time travel, or retroactive experiments, Karen unwittingly gets caught in the experiment, and ends up in a literal race against time to save the day.
