Darien Fawkes was a pretty thief and conman who was facing life in prison. Bailed out of jail by his brother, he accepted to undergo an untested human experiment that implants a ?quicksilver? gland in his head that allows him to turn invisible. The operation was a success, but that?s where everything started to go wrong. When his brother was killed, he is forced to enlist as a secret weapon for a top-secret government organization in return for a counter-agent which keeps the gland from driving him insane... The Official devises a scheme to gain the inside track on Arnaud De Fehrn by pilfering money from his casino in Las Cruces, but without the gambling help of Darien...
