Synopsis:
Throughout his reign, King Youngjo (SONG Kang-ho) was plagued by questions about his legitimacy as his mother was a lowborn concubine. He ascended to the throne after the sudden death of his half-brother King Kyoungjong. In order to overcome the doubts, Youngjo dedicated himself to becoming a king flawless in matters of scholarly learning and conduct.
He wishes for the late-born prince to become a king fully recognized by everyone, but the Crown Prince (YOO Ah-in) falls far short of his father's expectations, for the time being, the king finds himself being disappointed by his son?
