Synopsis: In 1999, award-winning filmmaker Jeremy Gilley founded Peace One Day, a non-profit organization, and in 2001 Peace One day's efforts were rewarded when the United Nations unanimously adopted the first-ever day of global ceasefire and non-violence on 21 September annually - Peace Day.
After that, Gilley turns his efforts to implementing the ideals of Peace Day around the world. Celebrity support from the likes of Angelina Jolie and David Beckham enhances the momentum. In 2007, being invited by UNICEF, Gilley and Jude Law use the Day to carry out a mass vaccination against polio in Afghanistan.
"THE DAY AFTER PEACE" charts the memorable 10-years journey of Gilley to establish an annual Peace Day on 21 September. The camera follows Gilley as he galvanizes the countries of the world to recognize an official day at ceasefire and non-violence
