"Nothing ever happens in Yong'an".But never say never. A film crew comes to the tranquil small town, Yong?n, to shoot a film. The town then becomes the breeding ground of three stories: local restaurant hostess starts to envision life outside the town; home returning actress hopes to reunite with old friends out of nostalgia; the director and screenwriter have a serious disagreement regarding the film. Rising Chinese director Wei Shujun shows his shrewd observation on human relationships and in-depth reflection on filmmaking in his third Cannes-selected film.
