While riding her scooter down a busy sidewalk, Ally collides with recently unemployed lawyer, Jenny Shaw. Feeling the immediate bond, Ally hires her as a new associate. Meanwhile, Fish has hired Glenn Foy, a young, suave lawyer, and Jennys ex, who soon becomes the hot topic of Allys therapy sessions. Cage wrestles with the idea of revealing his love for Ally; and Raymond Milbury, a smarmy, pompous attorney, represents Jenny's old firm in an attempt to disqualify her from a big case, a class action suit against the phone companies.

As Ally fights a serious attraction to Glenn, her therapist catches on and soon Jenny does too. Jennys class action suit against the phone companies continues, with eccentric Claire Otoms (Dame Edna Everage) as name plaintiff. A chance meeting with the Governor of Massachusetts lands Ling a judgeship and her court antics inspire a television show.
