Bensie is a devoted wife with three children leading a hand-to-mouth existence in Los Angeles. Her husband Johnny is suddenly reportecd dead in a place crash in Mexico. Emotionally devastated, Bessie travels to Mexico to bury her that lead her to a rich Veracruz band account. She also begins to suspect that Johnny's belongings, Bessie discovers a package of old baseball cards, and clues that lead her to a rich Veracruz bank account. She also begins to suspect that Johnny has been leading a double life. her travels take her to places like Berlin. Athens and finally to Cairo. There Bessie faces her worst nightmare. beside and may be associated with Johnny's dark past, Bessie also learns that love is not necessarily better the second time around.
