19 year-old Tomek is a shy youth working in the post office who spends his evenings spying through a telescope on his neighbour Magda, a sexually aggressive woman of thirty. He tries to get closer to her and even takes a job as a milkman so that he can hear her voice through the locked door. Tomek's secret infatuation is finally acknowledged and soon it is Magda wo tries to watch Tomek with her old opera glass, but her cynicism about love will end their friendship ominously...
