Liam(Martin Compston) and his best pal Pinball (William Ruane) peddling cheap cigarettes in pubs. His mom, Jean (Michelle Coulter), who has taken a fall for her drug-dealing boyfriend Stan (Gary McCormack), is due for release from prison in two months. His grandfather Rab (Tommy McKee) and Stan are too absorbed in their criminal careers to pay much attention to the lad whom they treat with contempt. The only goal of Liam is to get suitable lodging for his mom, away from Stan, before her release from prison. He and Pinball steal drugs belonging to Stan and Rab and sell enough for a down payment on a trailer. But the local crime boss, Tony (Martin McCardie), notices their drug dealing. He eventually offers a job to Liam but not Pinball, whom he correctly sizes up as a loose cannon. However, they ignore the fact that Liam just a boy who is sixteen years old......
