The Monteux Beethoven cycle was split between the London Symphony Orchestra and the Vienna Philharmonic. Presented here is a wonderful performance of the Fifth Symphony and the Egmont Overture with Monteux conducting the LSO. According to the late Jack Pfeiffer, RCA had scheduled this performance to be released as VICS 1103 but pulled it from release at the last minute.
